Overview

DP World Southampton is the second largest container terminal in the UK, founded in 1985, as a joint venture, the terminal started with just three berths and five Paceco cranes.  Today the terminal covers a site of over 200 acres, four deep water berths, one short-sea berth, 13 quayside gantry cranes and a mobile harbour crane.

Security is a very important factor of port life and DP World Southampton achieved ISO 28000 a security management system standard which has been developed specifically for logistics companies and organisations that manage supply chain operations.  Please click here to view the terminal's security policy.

At DP World Southampton we make a commitment to quality in every aspect of our terminal operations. To this end, we have implemented a fully documented Quality Management System, covering business areas which have an impact on satisfying our customers’ requirements. As a result the terminal currently holds ISO 9001:2008 quality certification.

DP World Southampton is also committed to reducing the impact of its operations on the environment and through achieving the ISO 14001, environment management standard, provides a clear framework for managing the progress of this goal.

The terminal also holds the OHSAS 18001, occupational health and safety management standard, which is a logical step towards our goal of ‘zero harm’ to all personnel involved in our activities.
