Supplier Donation Support
DP World Southampton supports a policy of enabling its suppliers of capital equipment to make donations to charitable organisations which support the communities locally to the terminal. To date to following donations have been possible:

As part of the procurement process and in conjunction with Noell Mobile Systems GmbH and Liebherr Cranes, DP World Southampton has been able donate £35,000 to five worthwhile charities:

£5,000 Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund
The Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund is available to help young people with the cost of higher education at Southampton Solent University.
The award takes the form of a bursary. There are four scholarships, three for new students applying to HND/BA degrees and one for students progressing from HND to a BA degree. The scholarships are available to students who have overcome adversity or can demonstrate why they need extra financial help with their studies. For more information visit

£5,000 Hampshire and Wight Trust of Maritime Archaeology
The Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology promotes interest, research and knowledge of maritime archaeology and heritage in Great Britain with core activities concentrated in the counties of Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the adjacent South Coast areas. Liebherr Cranes
£10,000 Jane Scarth House – Part of the Wessex Cancer Trust
Staffed by dedicated volunteer befrienders who are professionally trained to sit and listen when they are needed, Jane Scarth House is there for the emotional support of anyone who has been affected by cancer: patients, family members and carers. There is a comprehensive library full of information about many issues related to cancer that visitors are welcome to use. http://www.wessexcancer.org
£7,500 Indigo (Hampshire)
Ingido (Hampshire) is a project set up in 1997 as a voluntary organisation. Indigo (Hampshire aim to help women who are survivors of abuse within childhood, adolescence or who have experienced violence.
£7,500 Two Saints
Two Saints is a registered housing association working across Hampshire and West Berkshire to support people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. Providing accommodation and support for as long as it takes to restore a person’s self confidence and help them to live independently. Their aim is to help people to make the life changes that will enable them to find and keep a home and to reintegrate with society. For more information visit http://www.twosaints.org.uk/

£20,000 Naomi House Children’s Hospice
Naomi House children’s hospice opened in June 1997 to provide respite care, terminal care and bereavement support for children and families from across the south of England. It now costs over £2 million a year to provide and extend the service. For more information visit www.naomihouse.org.uk
£20,000 The Marine Society & Sea Cadets
Founded in 1899, the Sea Cadet Corps is jointly supported by the Royal Navy and its parent charity, The Marine Society & Sea Cadets. Waterborne activity is at the heart of the organisation. Sea Cadet activities are open to all young people, regardless of personal circumstances, sex, religion, race, and within the bounds of safety to themselves and others, to those with special needs. It gives them the opportunity to learn life skills whilst having fun and making friends. For more information visit www.ms-sc.org
£10,000 Piam Brown Children’s Ward
Piam Brown Children’s Ward is the Regional Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Centre for the Central South Coast. The unit is based within the Child Health Directorate located on the top floor of Southampton General Hospital. The ward cares for children from birth to 16 years of age with all types of cancer. They will use the donation to pay for equipment including:
- An optical loop for magnifying surgeon's vision whilst performing intricate tumour resection.
- Opthalmoscopes and auroscope combinations for the ten individual bed spaces on the ward.
- Four small fridges to put in our individual patient rooms to improve facilities and to ease congestion in family kitchen.
- New bed furnishings for the children.
- New text books for staff use to improve learning / teaching resources.
