Southampton Container Terminals Sets the Security Standard

Southampton Container Terminals (SCT) has become the first container terminal in the UK and the fourth DP World operated terminal to be certified to the security management standard ISO 28000.

ISO 28000 is a security management system standard which has been developed specifically for logistics companies and organisations that manage supply chain operations.

On achieving the certification, Campbell Mason, Managing Director, SCT, said:

“We are delighted to have achieved this certification as it enables us to demonstrate to all of our stakeholders that we are committed to supply chain security and that we have sound operational arrangements in place for identifying threats and managing risks."

As a direct result of investment in ISO 28000, DP World is the first and, exclusively, the only international port operator to become a member of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) programme; the primary U.S. government to business supply chain security initiative.  This therefore means that SCT will receive automatic C-TPAT certification.
