VBS - Create a Booking

When creating a new booking there are a number of rules which apply:

• A booking can only be made with exec’d containers.
• The details of a booking can be amended as many times as required free of charge.
• VBS allocates an hourly allowance of the number of bookings which a haulier is allowed to book. This is set at 10% of the maximum bookings issued by VBS each hour.
• A booking can be moved within a tethered window, up to six hours before or after the original booking, as long as there is a booking available and the haulier does not exceed the hourly allowance.

To create a new booking click on the “Create a Booking” link on the main menu. The screen will change to the Create Booking screen.

In either the export or import section, enter the container number and click on “Validate and Book Containers”.

Note: If your container is an import box you will require a PIN from the shipping line.  If your container is a loaded export a seal is required.

Once your containers have been validated the screen will expand to show the Container Summary information.

If the validation is successful the “Continue” button will be visible. If the validation was not successful then an error message will be displayed in red. You will need to remove or correct the offending container(s) and then click on the “Validate and Book Containers” button to re-validate.

Once the containers have been validated the screen will change to show the details of the booking and will allow you to select an appointment time.

In the Selected Container Summary section you will be able to remove a container. Simply click on the symbol next to the container you wish to remove from the booking.

To select a time for the booking click on the “Book” button adjacent to the hour you wish to make the booking for.

Once you have selected a time for the booking the screen will change to the Booking Summary screen, as shown.

The Booking Summary allows you to check the details of your booking before you click on “Commit Booking”. Once you have committed the booking, the screen will change to Booking Confirmation.
