VBS - Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I subscribe to the VBS?
    To find out how to subscribe to VBS, go to Getting Started.
  • Can I have my booking brought forward or put back?
    A booking can be brought forward or put back within a tethered window of six hours, from the original booking, as long as there is a booking available and the haulier does not exceed the hourly allowance. To find out how to move the hour of the booking, go to Amend Booking Appointment.

  • Are there going to be extra bookings added to the system at peak times?
    At DP World Southampton VBS is used in conjunction with a sophisticated method of allocation of transfer areas and slots to service the vehicles making the best and most efficient use of all of the terminal’s facilities. Therefore, if the resources are available which allow for extra bookings to be made available within the hour whilst maintaining service levels then extra bookings are published in VBS.

  • Can you amend containers on my VBS booking?
    Yes, VBS allows users to amend containers on a booking they have made, to find out how to amend a container on a VBS booking, go to Amend Booking Containers.

  • How can I get the full booking reference number for a lost VBS booking?
    The Future Bookings Search facility allows for the full booking reference number to be sent to the email address we have on file for the user’s login ID. To find out how to search for a future booking, go to Search.

  • How can I find/change username and password for the VBS system?
