VBS - Return to Exchange or Cancel a Booking

To deter abuse of the system a booking which is made and then not utilised will incur a ‘no show’ fee, which is set at £25. VBS, however, offers very flexible booking management so that incurring the no show fee will be an exceptional event. When a new booking is requested the system will check the exchange for any suitable bookings. If you remember to return a booking that is no longer required to the exchange the chances of incurring a no show fee are reduced.
Note: If a booking is returned to the exchange and the booking is not taken by another haulier, you will still be liable for the booking and therefore charged.
Therefore, if you no longer require a booking and do not wish to incur the ‘no show’ fee it is possible to either place the booking in the exchange, where the booking can be used by another haulier or to cancel the booking. A cancelled booking will still incur a no show fee.
To cancel a booking or return it to the exchange, click on “Return to Exchange or Cancel a Booking ” link on the main menu.
On the Return to Exchange or Cancel a Booking screen, enter the booking reference and click on the “Retrieve Booking” button which will display the booking details.
To cancel a booking click on the “Cancel this Booking” button. If you decide you do not wish to cancel the booking then click the main menu link at the top of the screen to return to the main menu.
To return the booking to the exchange click the “Return to Exchange” button, VBS will display a confirmation of the action.
