Marine Services

By integrating computer and mechanised technologies to maximise the throughput of the facilities on the quayside, DP World Southampton is able to meet the expectations of the deep-sea, short-sea and feeder operators.

DP World Southampton is an ideal location for a first or last European port with minimum deviated from shipping lanes, with current port accessibility of 35% per tide at 14.0m and the channel dredged to 12.6m below C.D. and a 4.5m tidal range.  However, approvals are in an advanced stage with the statutory authorities to gain a permit to dredge and achieve accessibility for 15.5m draft vessels, which will significantly increase the window for all our customers.

The terminal has 1,350 metres of quay dredged up to 15m below chart datum, utilising 13 post-panamax gantry cranes with enhanced crane performance, which enables DP World Southampton to deliver efficient services to most of the largest container ships in the world.

The terminal has an additional berth of 150 metres in length which is serviced by a dedicated 100-tonne mobile harbour crane and accommodates feeder vessels.
