How do I access the VBS system?
Access to the VBS system can be obtained through DP World Southampton’s website.
How can I get a VBS login and password?
A VBS registration form can be located on the DP World Southampton website. Please complete this and return it via email: email@example.com or post: Landside Services Administrator, DP World Southampton, 204-207 Western Docks, Southampton, SO15 1DA. You will then be contact with your login details within 24 hours of receipt (Monday- Friday).
Can I bring my booking forward?
Once a booking has been made it can be moved forward or back a maximum of six hours. Moving to a new booking time will however depend on availability. Bookings can be changed up to the hour of their commence but not once the booking has started.
Are extra bookings added during peak times?
Our VBS system is used in conjunction with a sophisticated method of transfer areas and slots. This enables us to utilise the terminal’s resources providing higher performance levels, often allowing us to increase the bookings even at peak times.
Can I bring a passenger with me onto the terminal?
For safety reasons, passengers are not permitted in lorry cabs unless the cargo is of high value or the passenger is another driver undergoing terminal familiarisation (we require 24 hours advance notification of this). No person under the age of 16 will be admitted. In order to obtain authorisation to carry a passenger, you must send proof of high value cargo / training, via email, to: firstname.lastname@example.org. If authorisation is given an email will be sent back to you from DP World Southampton’s Landside Department. Failure to gain authorisation will result in a £100 unauthorised passenger charge and the VBS booking cancelled, charged at a No Show fee of £27.17.
Can I send Dangerous Goods (DG) notices by email?
Yes. DG notices can be emailed to email@example.com but please ensure the email subject field shows the container number.
